Searching

Have you ever searched for something on the Internet and NOT been able to find what you were looking for, or at least something close to it?  Explain this to me.  There are billions of things out there.  And I can't find anything close to what I'm looking for half the time.  (Or at least it seems that way.)  I'm a bad searcher!

Today I wanted a calendar to put on my desktop so I can get a view of the month without having to click somewhere else.  I wouldn't mind if it had a To Do option also. These are some of the searches I did:

  • desktop calendar
  • desktop onscreen calendar
  • google desktop calendar (which I found but was ugly)
  • google calendar desktop application (still ugly)
  • free download desktop calendar software
  • 2010 desktop calendar
  • desktop calendar frog theme computer screen  (I started to get silly)

Did I do the wrong search or something?  Did I use the wrong keywords?

Needless to say I didn't find anything.  I found printable calendars, 2009 calendars, by the month calendars, create your own ugly computer generated calendars, and best of all I found sites that have lists of other sites that didn't have what I wanted and/or they wanted me to download something I've never seen!

GEEZ!!!  My son just came home.  I asked him to find something that may work for me.  He found one exactly like what I imagined AND downloaded it in 7!!!!  MINS!!!!  "You're welcome mom," he said to me as he walks away laughing smugly.  "I love you mom," he says as he walks into his office next to mine and then starts to tell me about some of the other sites he found and all of the add ones you can have.  He's still laughing a little under his breath.  I can feel his goofy smile as he wonders what the heck is wrong with my mom!?!  LOL!  (I have a great son!  He is 18 and still loves his mommy!  I love that!!!  Even though he is smarter than me...about somethings that is.)

Just in case you were wondering he searched for "desktop calendar apps".  There are many, many links, but the first one is the one he downloaded.  Here's a link to their site:

Koodo's to Rainlendar!!!  I sent them a note thanking them.

P.S.  I got my son a Dr. Pepper from the gas station for all of his time consuming help.
